HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FEEL THE EFFECTS OF CANNABIS VAPOR/SMOKE VERSUS INGESTION

Terpenes can modify the effect of cannabinoids and contribute heavily to the flower’s taste and smell. Terpenes levels are often treated as a strain’s signature and are currently being studied to determine their physiological effects. Below is a summary of some terpenes that have been identified so far.

  • Duration of high when smoked:
    Effects begin immediately after the drug enters the brain and last from one to three hours.

    This is MOSTLY because when entering through the lungs, it is absorbed and distributed within the blood stream almost instantly, which will take it straight to the brain.

  • Duration of high when ingested:
    Effects begin one-half to one hour after it is ingested and last as long as four hours

    This is MOSTLY because when entering through the stomach where it is processed slowly through your intestines and other organs before it is fully absorbed and distributed within the bloodstream, which will eventually take it to the brain.
