WHAT IS CBD?

WHAT IS CBD?

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a compound in cannabis that does not result in a psychoactive effect. CBD and THC together moderate the psychoactive effects and increase the medicinal effects and several other benefits that make it unique as the co-primary to THC in the cannabis plant. It is found in high potency within male hemp plants.

There’s a lot of research into the use of CBD dominant strains to help treat conditions like anxiety, panic reactions, used as topical to health through the skin, and even in edibles and tinctures. It is also believed that CBD can increase the availability of THC to the body, as well.

CBD alone has anti-epileptic, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, sedative effects and is a powerful antioxidant often used in the treatment of arthritis. Lab testing has shown effectiveness in treating diabetes, damage caused by a stroke, and alcoholism.

CBD can be found in:

  • Oils, balms and cream topicals, for applying to the skin

  • Supplement capsules

  • Gummies, candies and drinks - including bottled water

  • Raw CBD flower

  • Tinctures

  • Oil concentrates for vaporizers

  • And concentrate extracts

The future of research in CBD’s ability will be focused in inflammatory bowel disease, psychotic disorders, and multiple sclerosis.
