I Relax: Inhale Your Calm, Exhale Your Stress

on

The most common reason our vaporizers are used, besides for medical purposes, are to relax and unwind. Sometimes, the hardest part can be deciding on what type of herb you want to use. There are so many different herbs available that it can be hard to choose the right one. Our mission is to make it easier for you and to help you create your perfect experience – every time! Check out the video below to see how Mo, an herbalist and massage therapist, relax and use her MIQRO vaporizer.

So let us start off by going over the most commonly used herb we have available for relaxing: Lavender. Not only does it relax, but it also soothes and restores balance to the mind and body. It also stimulates the immune system and contributes to the healing process. Those are just added perks though, as the main draw here and purpose of this article is to enhance your natural ability to relax.

Lavender Herb

Some of us find it very difficult to wind down after a difficult day, and may lie awake in bed for hours with our minds racing before finally falling asleep for a few hours of fitful sleep.

Why go through all of this trouble when the answer is right in front of you? Lavandula.

Fill your oven with the buds of this Old World flower and get ready for the most restful night of sleep you’ve had in months. Lavender is much more than a pretty garden flower. Lavender calms the nervous system and makes brain waves more relaxed, two beneficial states when you need to sleep.

Lavender is traditionally alleged to have a variety of therapeutic and curative properties, ranging from inducing relaxation to treating parasitic infections, burns, insect bites, and spasm.

There is growing evidence suggesting that lavender oil may be an effective medicament in treatment of several neurological disorders. Several animal and human investigations suggest anxiolytic, mood stabilizer, sedative, analgesic, and anticonvulsive and neuroprotective properties for lavender.

These studies raised the possibility of revival of lavender therapeutic efficacy in neurological disorders.

Bergamot Herb

Another great herb that you can use is Bergamot

Bergamot is an amazing stress-reliever, and what better to relax you than to get rid of the stress you have been holding onto all day?

It helps to calm the nervous system and alleviate anxiety as a whole. Bergamot comes primarily from Italy, limited to the Ionian Sea coastal areas of the province of Reggio de Calabria, so much so that it has become the symbol of the entire city.

Bergamot is actually a cross between a lemon and an orange. It is a hybrid fruit with a sweet citrus scent. Studies have shown that when bergamot essential oil is used in aromatherapy, it can relieve anxiety, reduce stress and calm the body and mind in preparation for sleep.

However, you don’t need the essential oil to achieve these effects – you can also place the herb directly in your oven and get right to vaping your way to better rest.

Ylang Ylang Herb

The third herb we are going to talk about today is one you might not have heard of. Commonly known as Ylang Ylang , this herb hails from the flower of a tree that grows in Southeast Asia.

Studies support the theory that the floral, aromatic fragrance works as a stress reliever and lowers heart rate and blood pressure. The scent helps relax the body and can even serve as an antidepressant, making it ideal for sleep.

The tree that Ylang Ylang comes from is known as Cananga odorata, or the cananga tree. It is a tropical tree that is native to Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines

The fragrance of Ylang Ylang is rich and deep with notes of rubber and custard, and bright with hints of jasmine and neroli.

Roman chamomile is an herb that can be used to treat insomnia. A plant native to northwestern Europe and Northern Ireland. Though it hasn’t been studied in depth, some findings indicate it reduces stress and anxiety and promotes relaxation, so why not try it for those nights you find yourself awake and unable to sleep?

Roman Chamomile Herb

Roman chamomile is best known throughout the ages for its sedative and soothing qualities.

Endowed with an overall calming effect for the stressed mind and tense body, Roman chamomile can also be used to ease feelings of grief, anger, discontent or over-sensitivity.

These properties render it useful in gently overcoming feelings of anxiousness and restlessness or trouble sleeping. Next to lavender, Roman or English chamomile is a favorite in many aromatherapy cabinets because of the many beneficent qualities.

Roman chamomile can safely be used on children, the elderly, and animals. Its therapeutic profile, characterized by both gentleness and effectiveness, make it useful in treating conditions of excess heat.

Gentle and calming, Roman chamomile shines as an agent of general skin health and has been used successfully to treat upset, reddened skin.

St. John's Wort Herb

Another herb, St. John’s Wort, is a bright yellow antidepressant.

Many people are turning to St. John’s Wort to replace their prescription drugs, as the herb has shown to have a lower risk of side effects. (Every case is different and it is not recommended to change any medication before consulting with your doctor first.)

The herb is a mood lifter as well as a mild sedative, and it is perfect for relaxing both the body and mind while actually fighting fatigue.

Not only can it be used as a sleeping aid, but is used for heart palpitations, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), and CFS (Chronic Fatigue Disorder).

This plant is pretty powerful and increases the rate at which drugs are detoxified from the system.

This is important to note if you are taking birth control pills or prescription medication, as it can render them useless.

The last herb we are going to talk about today is emon balm. Scientifically known as Melissa officinalis, Lemon Balm is native to south-central Europe, North Africa, the Mediterranean region, and Central Asia.

Lemon Balm Herbs

It emits a lemony scent and produces pale-lemon colored flowers – cute right? This herb can be a huge helper for sufferers of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. A study showed reduced agitation in patients, and this is due to the effects the herb has on the central nervous system.

Its sedating properties are great for stress relief, but should not be used by sufferers of hypothyroidism as it is actually used as a treatment for hyperthyroidism.

More properties include digestive aid, anti-depressant and anti-anxiety. This is a fun herb which is part of the mint family and makes a great summer tincture.

As you can see, there are a number of different herbs that you can try out for helping to relax your mind, body, and spirit or to help fight insomnia, anxiety, or restlessness.

Of course, there are even more out there than what we went over, so the best thing to do is to research exactly what you are hoping to get out of your vaping session and going from there. It is up to you to create your perfect experience, and the MIQRO vaporizer allows you the flexibility to do just that.
