Kentucky Speaker: Medical cannabis legislation could come to a vote

on

A recent poll has shown 90% of Kentucky residents support Hemp. But what about medical marijuana?

The Kentucky Speaker of the House has stated that a vote on the legalization of Medical Marijuana could reach the floor as early as this week.  The bill's success in the Senate does seem rather unlikely, even if passed in the House, which would mean starting from square one for Kentucky MMJ activists.

According to wikipedia, "Kentucky was the greatest producer of hemp in the United States during the 19th and 20th centuries, when it was the source of three fourths of U.S. hemp fiber." It seems a natural fit to pair the production of hemp with medical marijuana. However, Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers had this to say: “There are some real benefits to it, but we need to know what it benefits – what things are there without creating bigger health hazards,”

What do you think the outcome will be?
