How Much Is A Vape Tank?

on

One of the components of a vape that many people choose to customize is their tank. This container holds the e-juice and the coil that turns liquid into vapor. The type of tank you select can significantly affect your vaping experience, from the amount of flavor extracted to the thickness of the vapor produced.

Depending on what you choose, it can affect the overall cost of vaping for you. There are many different types of tanks on the market, and you can find options ranging from anywhere between $5 for the cheapest mouth-to-lung tank variants, up to $100 for premium rebuildable vape tanks. That said, most options fall between the $20–$40 price range.

What Is A Vape Tank?

A vape tank is a container that holds the liquid, oil, or dry herb which is turned into vapor when you vape. The tank usually contains a coil and is attached to the top of the battery source. In the case of e-juice or oil consumable, a coil heats the wick saturated by the e-juice in the tank, which is then transformed into vapor.

You can find several different types of vape tanks, ranging from $5 to $100, with most options costing around $20–$40. If you’re wondering about the cost of a vape starter kit, know that tanks are often included, making them a great option if you’re just starting out with vaping.

Types Of Vape Tanks

After cartomizers and clearomizers, the vaping sphere welcomed different types of vape tanks that allowed for a more customizable vaping experience. Here are the three main types of vape tanks that you can currently buy.

Mouth-To-Lung Vape Tanks

Mouth-to-lung (MTL) vape tanks are designed to emulate smoking a cigarette or joint and are best used with liquid or oil consumables, making them a good entry point for people transitioning from smoking. You draw the vapor into your mouth and inhale it into your lungs. These tanks are usually on the smaller side, allowing for portability; they also use less of your product with each pull, so that you won’t run out of your supply as quickly as other larger tanks, plus the coils take longer to wear out.

Many vapers enjoy using MTL tanks due to the restricted airflow (i.e., a stealthier experience) and the concentrated flavor that comes with it, but it’s not the ideal choice for “cloud chasers” or vapers who prefer to inhale a lot of vapor.

You can buy cheap MTL vape tanks for around $5, but on average, they go for about $20–$30.

Sub-Ohm Vape Tanks

Sub-ohm tanks are like MTL vape tanks, except they’re built to tolerate low resistance coils, typically those under one ohm, letting you turn up the wattage in your device. And since more current can flow, more products can be vaporized at a time, producing better flavor and thicker clouds.

Other selling points of sub-ohm vape tanks include their capacity (which can go up to 6ml), versatility (it’s compatible with a lot of different mods), and its compatibility with temperature control coils. Sub-ohm tanks are also easy to refill since they usually come with built-in filling areas. That said, sub-ohm vape tanks usually require high-powered devices and can quickly consume any product you want to vape, so tread lightly.

Sub-ohm tanks generally go for about $30-$50.

Rebuildable Vape Tanks

Rebuildable vape tanks are less common than MTL tanks and sub-ohm tanks, but many vapers still prefer them because they are highly customizable and making your own coils can be cheaper in the long run.

Rebuildable vape tanks are technically just sub-ohm tanks without the pre-made coils. Instead, you fashion your own coils based on the type of vaping experience you want from the device. This can translate to better flavor, more controlled vapor, and improved vape performance.

You can find rebuildable vape tanks for $10, but most options stay within the $30–$40 range, with some tanks going up to $100.

What To Consider When Choosing A Vape Tank

Here are some of the factors that you should consider when choosing a vape tank to ensure the best experience:

Size

Vape tanks come in different sizes, and you should pick one that matches the experience you want out of vaping. If you’re going to keep your vape in your pocket, then opt for a tank that fits easily inside. If you’re not keen on the idea of having to refill your tank so often, then choose a tank with a higher capacity.

Compatibility

If you already own a device you love, it doesn’t make sense to change it for a tank. You have so many tank options that you shouldn’t have a hard time finding one that’s compatible with your device.

Preference

Vaping is a personal experience, and it allows for a lot of customization—even part by part. This is also true when it comes to your vape tanks. Don’t feel like you need to conform to what everyone’s using. Choose the right tank for you based on the experience that you want to achieve while vaping.

What Is The Best Vape Tank?

There’s no single best vape tank. What works for one might not work for another, and it all depends on the experience that you want. From there, you can choose the vape tank that’s right for you—which might mean not even having a tank at all!

Some devices, such as dry herb vaporizers, don’t need changeable tanks; instead, they come with their own optimized containers and ovens that offer the best all-in-one experience. Don’t be afraid to explore your options!
