FAQ

What is the DaVinci External Battery Charger and which batteries does it support?

The DaVinci External Battery Charger is a standalone bay charger designed to charge your DaVinci 18650 and 18350 batteries outside the device. It supports both battery formats used across the IQ2, IQC, and MIQRO-C. Instead of tethering your device to a wall outlet, you charge the cell directly — keeping your vaporizer free for use while a spare battery charges beside it.

Why use an external charger instead of charging in-device?

Three reasons. First, in-device USB-C charging is pass-through — usable, but slower. The external charger provides a dedicated charge circuit that's more consistent for cell health over hundreds of cycles. Second, it enables a spare battery rotation: while one cell is in the device, the other is charging. You're never waiting. Third, it extends overall battery lifespan — charging lithium-ion cells at a controlled, dedicated rate reduces heat stress compared to the variable conditions of pass-through charging during use.

How long does the External Battery Charger take to charge a battery?

The 18650 (3,000 mAh) charges in approximately 2–3 hours from empty. The 18350 (900 mAh) charges faster — typically 1–1.5 hours. Both are charged at a gentle rate that favors longevity over speed.

How do I know when charging is complete?

The charger's LED indicator changes state when charging is complete. Always remove batteries promptly after reaching full charge; leaving lithium-ion cells on trickle charge for extended periods accelerates degradation over time.

Is the External Battery Charger compatible with non-DaVinci 18650 cells?

The charger accepts standard 18650 and 18350 flat-top cells. It will physically accept non-DaVinci cells of the same format, but DaVinci only guarantees performance with their genuine battery cells. If you use third-party cells, verify they are flat-top and rated at 3.7V nominal.
