What makes the IQ3's water tool adapter different from the IQ2/IQC version?

Two differences: material and fit. The IQ3 adapter is made from zirconia ceramic rather than silicone, which keeps the entire vapor path from oven to water piece in Clean First-compliant inert material. It's also sized specifically for the IQ3's top cap geometry, so it won't fit the IQ2 or IQC. If you want to run the IQ3 through a water tool, this is the correct part.

What size water pieces does the IQ3 adapter connect to?

The adapter is a 10mm stem — compatible with 10mm female water tools. For 14mm pieces, a 10mm-to-14mm adapter bridge is needed (not included). Most mini rigs and travel bubblers are 10mm; standard bongs are typically 14mm.

Does water filtration affect the IQ3's Cool Core advantage?

They stack. The Cool Core cools vapor before it reaches the adapter, and the water piece cools it further. If you run the IQ3 through a water tool, pre-chilling the Cool Core in the freezer beforehand gives you three layers of vapor cooling — Cool Core, air path travel, and water filtration. This combination produces the smoothest possible draw from any dry herb vaporizer in the DaVinci lineup.
