Two signals: increased draw resistance (pulling harder than usual for the same result), and visible clogging or discoloration that ISO cleaning doesn't fully resolve. Screens are a consumable — inexpensive to replace and significantly cheaper than allowing clogged screens to cause wear on the device's vapor path over time.

For daily users, every 2–4 weeks depending on session frequency and material type. Resinous herb and high-moisture material clog screens faster. Light or occasional users can go longer. When in doubt, a fresh screen is a cheap fix for degraded draw quality.
