DaVinci EQ Cleaning Guide: Keep Your E-Rig Performing

The EQ’s flavor performance depends directly on how clean the vapor path is. Quartz is non-porous and doesn’t absorb residue the way ceramic does, but it still accumulates concentrate buildup over time — and that buildup, left unaddressed, will show up in your vapor. A consistent cleaning routine is the difference between tasting your concentrate and tasting your last ten sessions.

What you’ll need

EQ Quartz Crucible — the primary component to keep clean for best flavor
The EQ Quartz Crucible — warm quartz releases residue far more easily than cold quartz. Clean it while it’s warm.
  • Isopropyl alcohol (91% or higher — 99% preferred)
  • Cotton swabs
  • Small resealable container or zip-lock bag for soaking
  • Soft cloth or paper towels
  • Warm water for rinsing

The Jacuzzi Collection includes a cleaning kit. If yours has been depleted, standard 99% isopropyl alcohol from a pharmacy is the right substitute.

After every session: the quick clean

The most important cleaning habit is the one you build after every session, while the crucible is still warm. Warm quartz releases residue much more easily than cold quartz — the few minutes immediately post-session are your highest-leverage cleaning window.

While the crucible is warm (60–90 seconds after the session ends):

  1. Remove the carb cap.
  2. Use a cotton swab dipped lightly in isopropyl alcohol to wipe the inside of the quartz crucible. One or two passes is usually sufficient after a normal session.
  3. Follow with a dry swab to remove any remaining alcohol before the next session.
  4. Empty and rinse the Jacuzzi Bubbler with clean water. Replace with fresh water, or leave it empty if you won’t be using the EQ again that day.

Weekly deep clean: the quartz crucible

  1. Remove the crucible from the heater. Unscrew the retention ring, then gently pull the crucible off.
  2. Soak in isopropyl alcohol. 20–30 minutes for routine cleaning; 60 minutes for heavier buildup.
  3. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. All ISO must be rinsed out before reassembly.
  4. Allow to dry completely. At least 30 minutes air dry before reconnecting to the heater.
  5. Reconnect. Seat the crucible onto the heater, reinstall the O-ring, and screw the retention ring back on securely.

Weekly deep clean: the Jacuzzi Bubbler

  1. Empty any remaining water.
  2. Add a small amount of 91%+ ISO, cap the openings, and shake for 30–60 seconds.
  3. For significant buildup, let the ISO sit 15–20 minutes before shaking.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with warm water until no ISO smell remains.
  5. Dry completely before refilling for a session.

Using distilled water in the bubbler extends the time between deep cleans by reducing mineral deposits on the glass.

Cleaning the mouthpiece and carb cap

For zirconia components (Jacuzzi Collection): a 15-minute ISO soak followed by a warm water rinse. For silicone components (Skyrise): a quick wipe or short soak under 30 minutes — extended soaks can cause silicone to absorb isopropyl alcohol over time.

Cleaning the heater and connection points

The heater should not be submerged. If connection points accumulate residue — which can affect the heater LED indicator behavior — clean them with a cotton swab lightly dampened with ISO. If the heater isn’t connecting properly, cleaning the connectors is the first troubleshooting step before contacting support.

Cleaning the EQ base unit

Wipe down externally with a soft cloth. Do not allow any liquid to enter the USB-C port or heater connection area. The touchscreen cleans with a dry or very lightly dampened soft cloth.

When to replace vs clean

Replace the quartz crucible when: it develops cracks or chips, stubborn discoloration doesn’t respond to extended ISO soaking, or vapor develops a persistent off-note that cleaning doesn’t resolve. Replacement: $24.

Replace the heater when: it no longer reaches set temperature consistently, heat-up time increases noticeably, or LED connection issues persist after cleaning. Replacement: $49.

Replace the bubbler if it chips or cracks — a chipped glass-on-glass joint is a leak point, not a cleaning problem. Replacement Jacuzzi Bubbler: $120.

A note on ISO concentration

91% works. 99% works better and faster. Do not use acetone or rubbing alcohol blends with additives — these can damage quartz surfaces or leave chemical residue in the vapor path.

Build the quick clean into the end of every session and the deep clean into your weekly routine, and the EQ will perform on session 500 the same way it did on session one.
